From the Greeks associating a rose to Aphrodite, to it being a part of the Egyptian myth of Isis, Christians linking the same to Virgin Mary and various modern cultures around the world assigning different meaning to the ‘queen of flowers’ – I will be exploring the particular significance and prominence of rose in Western Art.
